England Euro 2012 odds - Fabio Capello Quits
With just four months to go until the European Championships England are on the search for a new manager after Fabio Capello resigned. The Italian quit after he believed his authority had been undermined following the Football Association's decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy. The England national team seem to be plagued by constant drama and it will be interesting to see what happens in the next few weeks. Harry Redknapp is currently the odds-on favourite in the betting.
England head into Euro 2012 in a confident mood following a relatively successfuly qualification campaign and recent friendly wins against Spain and Sweden. They will be desperate to make an impression after their failure to qualify for 2008 European Championships, when they slumped to a third place finish behind Croatia and Russia. Now England have a chance to make amends as they attempt to win the tournament for the first time in their history.
Although unconvincing at times England qualified as winners of Qualification Group G. England will be quietly pleased with being drawn in Euro 2012 Group D having avoided the likes of Spain, Holland, Italy and Portugal. However, it is still a tough group which contains France, Sweden and co-hosts Ukraine, with England's first group game against rivals France on 11th June 2012 at the Donbass Arena (Donetsk)
The odds for England to win Euro 2012 are currently around 8/1.

Key Player
Following England's poor performance at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, a number of senior players were expected to be dropped to make way for a younger generation of talent. However, Fabio Capello has stuck with many of the golden generation but has also injected fresh blood into the team, most notably the Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere who has impressed since making his debut against Hungary.
England's man main for the past couple of years has been Wayne Rooney, however, after being recklessly sent off in England's final qualifying game, the Man Utd striker was originally handed a thee match suspension but this has since been reduced to two, meaning he will miss the games against France and Sweden. England will therefore look to the likes of Steven Gerrard and Ashley Young for inspiration.
England also look to have long last found a high quality keeper in Joe Hart who kept five clean sheets in qualification.
England European Championships Previous Form
England's best performance in a European Championship came in 1968 when they finished third. In 1996 they reached the semi-finals on home soil.
