Euro 1984, France
The 1984 European Championships took place in France for the second time in the tournaments lifetime. France had previously hosted the inaugural 1960 European Nations' Cup.
The format for Euro 1984 was almost the same as the previous event, with 31 teams going through a qualification process, with automatic entry for the host nation of the event.
The following teams all qualified for the final tournament:
- Belgium
- Denmark
- France (automatically qualified as host)
- Portugal
- Romania

These teams were then split into two groups of 4 that played a round robin format, with the winners of each group and the runners progressing to the re-introduced semi finals, with the winners of the semi finals progressing to the eventual final.
