Euro 2008, Austria and Switzerland
The 14th edition of the UEFA European Football Championship was co-hosted by two countries for the second time in the tournaments history. It took place in Austria and Switzerland from the 7th - 29th June 2008.
The qualification process for Euro 2008 began in August 2004 and the x countries that were taking part were split into seven groups. The winners and runners of each of those groups would then qualify for the tournament, the remaining 2 spaces of the 16 team European Championships were filled by the host nations.

2008 European Championship Final
The final of the tournament took place between Germany and Spain on the 29th June 2008. The venue used for the final was the Ernst Happel Stadion, Vienna in Austria, and it was watched by a crowd of 51,428.
A solitary goal during the first half of the match by Fernando Torres was enough to give Spain their second European Championship title.
