Euro 2008 Odds & Tips
The Euro 2008 odds will always have the well fancied nations at short prices to win the tournament. However, with a case able to be made for over half the field there is plenty of value to be had in the Euro 2008 betting market.
Germany head the list of teams in the Euro 2008 outright betting at odds of around 4/1 with most major bookmakers. This is mainly due to fact that Germany has won the most European Championships in the past, winning it on three separate occasions. Group B looks relatively straight forward and Germany should progress in to the knockout stages were they are drawn on the less competitive side of the tournament, giving them a potentially clear run to the semi final where form would suggest they would meet Portugal, who look the best bet in Group A and are around 7/1 shots to win the tournament.
Group C and Group D make up the other side of the Euro2008 draw and look much tougher. Group C sees France, Italy and Holland all clash, and with only two teams able to qualify, at least one of the pre tournament favourites will be heading home early. Italy are favourites to win the group, but there is not much between them and France who will clash in the final Group C game in a repeat of the 2006 World Cup final. This may play to Holland’s advantage providing that they can pick up points in their first two matches. Because of the tough group, the Dutch are 12/1 to win the tournament, a big a price as they will ever be and that price is sure to be slashed if they are lucky enough to progress in to the last eight.
The two sthat qualify from Group C will play the qualifiers from Group D, which includes Spain as the favourites to finish top and therefore would expect to play runner up of Group C. Spain will always be one of the leading fancies for any major tournament that they enter but have failed to live up to expectations in recent years. Once again they are well fancied to win Euro 2008 and are second favourites behind Germany to win at odds of 6/1 and justifiably so with a squad of talented players, however, backers will no doubt be left worrying in the later stages when it comes to the must win games.
Euro 2008 Tournament Betting Tips
Given that the betting for the winner of Euro 2008 is so competitive, it is likely that you will get a good price if you can successfully back the winner. Germany are going to be a big threat and look guaranteed to make it to the last four given the side of the tournament that they are in. However, whichever team can make it through Group C or D will have a big chance as they will no doubt be in great form given their progress and Spain have a crop of players that are very talented and if on form, should be a good bet to register a long over due success at the European Championships.
