Poland 1-1 Greece
Poland and Greece played out an entertaining 1-1 draw in the opening game of the Euro 2012. Robert Lewandowski put Poland ahaead in the 17th minute with a header. Then just before half-time things got worse for Greece as they were harshly reduced to 10 men when Sokratis Papastathopoulos recieved a second yellow card.
However, Greece bounced back after the restart when Dimitris Salpingidis drew them level. In the 72nd minute they had an excellent chance to go ahead when Poland goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny brought down Salpingidis, resulting in a straight red and a penalty for Greece. Captain Giorgos Karagounis stepped up but saw his penalty saved by substitute keeper Przemyslaw Tyton.

Form Guide
As Poland qualified automatically for the tournament they have played a number of friendlies against a variety of teams in order to prepare themselves fully for this summer. In February they held Portugal to a creditable goalless draw and they have recently recorded 1-0 wins over Latvia and Slovakia and a 4-0 thrashing of Andorra, which will give them confidence going into their opening match.
Meanwhile, Greece qualified for Euro 2012 after they impressively finished top of Group F, without losing a single game. However, they were the lowest goalscorers of all the qualified teams, which could prove to be a problem this summer. They draw 1-1 with Slovenia on 26th May and finished their build-up with a 1-0 win away to Armenia.
