Spain v France
Saturday 23rd June 2012
Spain v France - Donbass Arena, Donetsk (ITV 1, 19:45pm)
Group C winners Spain take on old rivals France who finished runners-up to England in Group D. Defending champions Spain head into the match as the hot favourites but if France play to their full potential then it could go down to the wire.
Spain haven't been at their best this tournament but still managed to pick up seven points from a potentially dangerous group. France looked in pole position for top spot in Group D after beating co-hosts Ukraine but they sunk to a disappointing defeat to Sweden, which was their first loss in 24 games.
The teams last met in a friendly in 2010, with Spain coming out comfortable 2-0 winners. However, Spain have never beaten France at a major tournament, suffering defeats at Euro 1986 and 2000 and also at World Cup 2006.
