Euro 2008 Stadiums

With Euro 2008 being hosted across two countries, Austria and Switzerland, the stadiums used are split across the boders. A total of eight stadiums are being used for the tournament, four in each country.

The stadium used for European Championships are the best on offer in the host countries and are often state of the art stadia offering the best facilities and large capacities for the fnas going to watch the matches.

Euro 2008 Venues in Austria

Ernst Happel Stadion Vienna
Capacity - 53,000
Is the Austrian national stadium based in the capital city. It will play host to all Austria's games in the competition as well as two quarter final matches, a semi final and the final.

Hypo-Arena Klagenfurt
Capacity 32,000
Based in the southern Austrian city of Klagenfurt this stadium will host three Group B matches during Euro 2008.

Wals Siezenheim Stadium - Salzburg
Capacity 30,000
Home of Red Bull Salzburg, this stadium was built in 2003 and will host three Group D matches during the championships.

Tivoli Neu - Innsbruck
Capacity - 30,000
This stadium was built in 2000 and has been expanded in preperation for the European Championships in 2008 and is based in the picturesque city of Innsbruck, Western Austria and will host three matches during Euro 2008.

St. Jakob-Park - Basel
Capacity - 42,500
This stadium is the largest in the country and will play host to all of of Switzerland's matches in the tournament as well as two of the quarter finals and one of the semi finals.

Stade de Suisse, Wankdorf - Berne
Capacity - 32,000
This impressive stadium is in the Swiss capital of Berne and will play host to three Group C games during the Championships.

This recently built stadium is based in Geneva and will play host to three Group A games.

This stadium is home to two of Switzerland's msot famous club sides, FC and Grasshoppers Zurich. it is the oldest stadium being used during the Championships but has been modernised to an excellent standard. It will play host to three Group C matches
