Sweden are relative newcomers to the European Championships, qualifying only for the first time at Euro92. They made the Quarter Finals four years ago and having qualified through the group stages of the past two World cups. Their international pedigree continues to improve and they have a good chance of progressing once again in to the knock out stages from Group D.

Since the retirement of Henrik Larsson, the responsibility of scoring goals for Sweden firmly lies with Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who will need to make a big contribution if Sweden are to get through the very competitive Group D.
