Sweden Euro 2012 Odds

Sweden Euro2008Euro 2012 will be Sweden's fourth consecutive Championships. They should never be underestimated and have the unity and team spirit to go for in this summer's tournament.

Under head coach Erik Hamren Sweden qualified for the Euro 2012 finals after finishing as the best runners-up. They had a successful qualifying campaign but were edged out by Holland in Qualifying Group E. However, they finished as the best placed runners-up thus ensuring their place in the Finals.

Sweden's best performance at a European Championships, was at Euro 92 where they managed to progress to the semi-final stage. They have managed to qualify for the last three European Championships but have not yet progressed further than they did in their debut run out.

Sweden have been handed a fairly tough draw next summer having been placed in Euro 2012 Group D with England, France and co-hosts Ukraine. Their opening match is against Ukraine on 11th June 2012 at the Olympic Stadium.

Key Player

Since the retirement of living legend Henrik Larsson, Sweden have had to rely on their captian Zlatan Ibrahimovic for goals. The controversial striker has scored 28 goals for his country and on his day is one of the most dangerous forwards in the world. Sweden also have a good attacking midfielders in Anders Svensson and Kim Kallstrom.
