Ukraine 2-1 Sweden
Euro 2012 co-hosts Ukraine got their campaign off to a winning start after beating Sweden 2-1 in Kiev. Scenes of jubilation greeted the final whistle in what was a famous night in the country's sporting history. The win means that Ukraine lead the way in Group D, after France and England drew 1-1 in Donetsk.
After a goalless first-half Sweden took the lead in the 52nd minute after a neat finish from captain Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, going behind seemed to spur Ukraine into action and just three minutes later Ukrainian legend Andriy Shevchenko drew his country level with a cracking header. Then shortly after the main man did it again with yet another header of the highest quality. Despite pressure from Sweden at the end Ukraine managed to hold on and record a famous victory.

Form Guide
As Ukraine were not part of the qualifying campaign they have only played international friendlies in the past couple of years. After a crushing 4-0 defeat to Czech Republic last September they went on a six match unbeaten run, which has included wins against Bulgaria, Estonia (twice), Austria and Israel as well as a thrilling 3-3 draw at home to Germany. However, their confidence may have been knocked after back-to-back defeats to Austria and Turkey.
Sweden were impressive in qualifying, winning eight of their 10 matches, including a 3-2 win against Holland in their final game. They have since bean defeated by Denmark and Euro 2012 opponents England, while picking up wins away to Bahrain and Croatia, followed by a 3-2 victory at home to Iceland and 2-1 win against Serbia.
Previous Meetings
The teams have played each other three times in their history, with both sides winning once. The most recent meeting was played in Ukraine back in August, with Sweden coming out 1-0 winners.
